The support of our volunteers makes a big difference in the lives of those we serve. If you are interested in volunteering as an Ally, for the Childcare team, or the Food team, please contact us.
Food Teams
Our food teams support our Gravenhurst group in preparing and serving meals to our Circles community. This shift runs from 4:00-7:00pm on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesdays of each month from September to June.
Food teams include from 3-5 members, with one lead volunteer who is the contact person for the program coordinator. The lead, in collaboration with the other members, decides on a menu from donated, ready-to-eat food donated by Gravenhurst Against Poverty. The team can use the kitchen facilities at the Circles site to heat and prepare the meal.
Members of the food teams often join the us for our meal and are valued and respected members of the Circles Community.

Being an Ally
Allies have the most hands-on volunteer role available with Cirlces®. As an Ally, you will be in contact with Circles® participants (Leaders) on an ongoing basis. Together meetings with the broader Circles® community, and work together towards the leaders goals. Allies offer ongoing support, encouragement and connection to group participants. Allies come from all walks of life and find the role very rewarding.
Circles Allies commit to attending weekly community meetings that are 2-hours each, 3 days per month. Time commitment can vary from Ally to Ally and we work with each participant and volunteer to find a process that works best for all members.

Children’s Program
As a Circles® childcare volunteer you get an opportunity to help participating children build positive, safe relationships across social and economic lines. Our volunteers help to plan and deliver programming that includes games, activities and crafts. The children are from both the allies’ and leaders’ families. There is also the option to join us for dinner with the whole Circles® community.
